David Valjean, is an Inspirational / Motivational Speaker and Personal Mentor. His  desire is to breathe a new spirit into you. To ennoble you. To move you in a greater direction. Motivation can move you, but Inspiration lasts a lifetime. 

Motivation comes from the Latin – movere, to move.

Inspiration comes from the Latin - in: spirare, to breath in; to infuse thought or feeling into.

His mission is to motivate people. His quest is to inspire them to greater heights. 

Think about the people both living and dead, the ones whom you have met and the ones whom you only heard tale of. Whatever good or bad that has transpired in your life; do they remain a source of your inspiration? When you have lost your desire; do they continue to instill hope? Do they further inspire you? Do they motivate you? Motivation issues forth from feeling. Inspiration is a way of thinking, a way of life! 

What character do the people whom inspire you possess? Most probably a noble character. Jesus, Moses, Mohammed, Buddha, Confucius, Lao Tzu, Brahma, Vishnu. How about purely fictional characters? Such as Alexander Dumas' "The Three Musketeers" or "The Fellowship" in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. How about Superman, Wonder Woman or Batman. 

All noble. For that is the quality which inspires us, then motivates us to follow in their footsteps. To become better people. To become greater. Grander than we were before. 

Nobility has been swept away in the name of Progress, and yet without nobility we lose the very thing that make us civilized. The very thing which inspired the creation of civilization in the first place. Manners, Etiquette, Protocol, these are the things which civilize us. Without them we are little better than speaking animals.

A noble person, a hero; is the very embodiment of an ideal. The ideal of what people should be, but frequently lack. The very incarnation of that lofty aspiration of what we can be, but so rarely achieve.

Humanity needs ideals and it needs people to embody them. That is his mission. That is his quest. By making people stronger he enriches their lives and when he does that he enhances civilization, which further propels mankind into a nobler more beautiful future.

There is a lot of talk about change these days. How wonderful and exciting it is. How we all need it. How it is the thing to do! Change can be wonderful and exciting if you have a firm understanding of where you are and where you are going! Without that understanding you will become lost very quickly. Can anyone say Russian Revolution?

The truth will set you free but first it's going to upset you. It will probably anger you.  Please excuse my language but true words are not eloquent and eloquent words are not true. For you to truly grow and change your life for the better you need someone to kick your butt, not kiss it!

That is a coaches job. To kick butt! To make his players the best they possibly can be! No one likes to push themselves. They like comfort. That is why they get into a rut. If it was was easy to get out of a rut you would not need a personal coach. But that rut is comfortable and change is uncomfortable and difficult. The only difference between a rut and a grave are the dimensions.

Can you see a professional football coach going into the locker room at half-time and saying to his players: "Well gentlemen we are behind by 56 points. We really need to do better. I know you are tired and how about this heat? Wheew! But we all really need to exert ourselves more and pull together as a team. Just remember lads that it isn't whether we win or lose this game, it is how we play it. So I want to see an extreme amount of technical expertise from you all when we return for the second half. Okay?"

How inspiring would that be? Would that motivate you? Yet today we are supposed to be ever so vigilant to watch every word uttered so as not to offend anyone at any time. In a social setting I absolutely agree, but we are not discussing that. We are talking about truth, honesty and personal growth. The truth is harsh and disturbing, but without it we will lie complacent in our comfortable little rut wondering what to do next.
